Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

• Account information: your email address, username, display name and password. Passwords are stored only in scrambled (hashed) form; we cannot read them.
• Google sign-in: if you choose "Continue with Google", Google shares your name, email address and profile photo with us. We do not receive your Google password.
• Profile information you choose to add: photo, cover image, bio, location, phone number, spiritual paths and social media links.
• Content you create: videos, audio, live streams, posts, comments, messages, live chat, courses, events and anything else you upload or publish.
• Payments: when you give an offering or buy a subscription, the payment is handled by our payment provider. We receive the amount and the result of the payment, not your full card or mobile money details.
• Activity and technical information: what you watch and for how long, likes, follows and saves, plus your IP address, device and browser type, and server logs.
• Cookies and local storage: used to keep you signed in and to remember your language and theme. We do not use advertising cookies.

2. How we use your information

• To run SpiritStream: create your account, host and stream your content, and show it to the people you share it with.
• To personalise what you see, such as recommendations and content from the faith traditions you choose.
• To keep the community safe: automated checks (including AI moderation services) may review comments, text and images for hate, abuse, threats or explicit content, and our moderators review reports.
• To contact you about your account, for example password resets, security notices and notifications you have turned on.
• To understand how SpiritStream is used and to fix problems.
• To meet legal obligations and protect the rights and safety of our users.

3. What other people can see

Your username, display name, profile photo, public profile details and anything you publish publicly (videos, posts, comments, live streams) can be seen by anyone, including people who are not signed in. Private messages are visible only to the people in the conversation, and to our moderators if a message is reported.

4. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

• Service providers that help us run SpiritStream, such as our hosting provider, email delivery service, payment providers, Google (for Google sign-in) and content moderation services. They may use the information only to provide their service to us.
• Authorities, when the law requires it or when it is needed to protect someone's safety.
• A new owner, if SpiritStream is ever merged or sold, in which case this policy continues to protect your information.

5. Where your information is stored and how we protect it

Your information is stored on servers operated by our hosting provider, which may be outside Cameroon. All connections to SpiritStream use encryption (HTTPS), passwords are hashed, and access to our systems is restricted. No online service can be perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and keep it to yourself.

6. How long we keep your information

We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete content or your account, we remove it from SpiritStream; copies in our backups are deleted as those backups are replaced. We may keep some records longer where the law requires it or to resolve disputes and enforce our terms.

7. Your choices and rights

• See and update your profile and settings at any time on the Settings page.
• Delete your content, or ask us to delete your account.
• Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it.
• Turn notifications on or off in your settings.

To make a request, write to us at the address below. We may need to confirm your identity first.

8. Children

You must be at least 13 years old to create a SpiritStream account. Content in the Kids section is made for children to watch with a parent or guardian, and comments are switched off on Kids videos. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as SpiritStream grows. We will change the date at the top, and tell you on the site or by email before important changes take effect.
